Capel Y Berthen

About us: Capel Y Berthen is a small friendly chapel in the village of Lixwm. The chapel has the appeal of looking out over the Clwydian hills and being set in a quiet rural village. Ysgol Licswm hosts some of their celebrations and ceremonies here, as it is a short 5 minute walk from school. We welcome our school family to join us here every time we visit. It also has the benefit of plenty of space to park for all it’s visitors and it is situated directly across from the cemetery.

History: This is the oldest Presbyterian chapel in Flintshire, it was established by John and Mary Owen, Berthen Gron, in 1776 and replaced by this new chapel in the late nineteenth century. A service and children’s Sunday school are held every Sunday at 10am. Religious and social meetings are also held during the week.
