Keep Wales Tidy at Our School
At our small school, Keep Wales Tidy has given our pupils—aged 3 to 11—a wonderful opportunity to connect with nature, care for the environment, and enjoy hands-on outdoor learning. From gardening to litter-picking and wildlife spotting, children are developing a real sense of responsibility for the world around them.
These experiences have had a powerful impact on pupil wellbeing, especially for those who benefit from an adapted curriculum. Being outside in a calm, nurturing space supports their learning, builds confidence, and helps them feel part of something meaningful.
We’re now excited for the next step—welcoming our Wildlife Garden Package, including a pond, which will bring even more opportunities to learn through nature.
Through it all, our pupils show love, care, and respect—for each other, for wildlife, and for the planet.
Keep Wales Tidy – is the charity committed to working with local communities across Wales to protect our environment now and for the future.
Practically, we know that a good quality environment matters to people and that the benefits can make a real difference to our health, well-being, communities and to our economy. And crucially, it is great for nature too.

Since earlier this year we have been working together with Keep Wales Tidy.
We applied for a grant to improve our planting and wildlife areas around the school. The pupils with assistance from their class teachers are growing fruits and vegetables in school. With the grant we received a poly tunnel to start off the seedlings with can then be moved to our raised beds to grow. Most of the water we use to water the plants, comes from our water butt which a parent kindly installed for us.
